MANILA, Philippines — St. Benilde showed University of Perpetual Help who’s the boss and hacked out an emphatic 25-16, 25-22, 25-18 victory yesterday to reclaim the solo lead in NCAA Season 100 women’s volleyball at the EAC Gym.

The four-peat feat-seeking Lady Blazers dictated the pace from start to finish to snare their seventh win in eight outings.

Wielyn Estoque continued to carry the scoring load by firing 17 points while skipper and former MVP Mycah Go, Clydel Mae Catarig and Zam Nolasco chipped in 13, 12 and 12 hits, respectively.

It was a complete show of force for coach Jerry Yee’s charges in sending the Lady Altas screeching to their first defeat after racking up six straight wins in their campaign.

It also sent UPHSD stumbling from No. 1 to joint No. 2 with Letran, which also owns a 6-1 mark.

Earlier, Mapua downed San Beda, 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-11, to breathe life to its Final Four bid with a 4-3 card.

The Red Spikers fell to 0-8.

In men’s action, Mapua outlasted San Beda, 25-17, 25-23, 16-25, 16-25, 15-13, to stay at No. 2 with a 7-1 record.
