Pasig, Malabon tankers bumida sa Batang Pinoy

PUERTO PRINCESA, Philippines — Patuloy ang pagpapasikat nina swimmers Arvin Naeem Taguinota II ng Pasig City at Sophia Rose Garra ng Malabon sa 16th Batang Pinoy National Championships kahapon dito sa Ramon V. Mitra Jr. Sports Complex.

Dinomina naman ni cyclist Maritanya Krog ng Caloocan City ang girls’ 14-15 years old criterium event.

Sinikwat ng 13-anyos na si Taguinota at ng 12-anyos na si Garra ang kani-kanilang ikatlong gold medal sa Day Two ng swimming competition.

Panalo si Taguinota sa boys’ 12-13 200 LC backstroke sa tiyempong 2:19.88 para iwanan sina Behrouz Mohammad  Mojdeh (2:24.49) ng Parañaque City at Titus Rafael Sia (2:26.24) ng San Juan City.

Nauna nang nagbida ang estudyante ng British International School sa 200 LC Meter IM (2:22.02) at sa 100 LC Meter freestyle (57.92).

“It’s more of our performance na lang talaga and then sobrang bonus na lang if we win the medal. So we’re happy na maganda naman iyong naging turnout,” ani Olympian Jessie Lacuna, ang coach ni Taguinota.

Wagi naman si Garra sa girls’ 12-13 200 LC Meter IM 200 LC backstroke sa kanyang oras na 2:30.00 para ungusan sina Anika Kathryn Matiling (2:38.82) ng Bacolod City at Angela Tane Perez (2:44.45) ng Kidapawan City.

Sa cycling, nagsumite si Krog, ang 2022 Batang Pinoy winner, ng 0:34.29 para ta­lunin sina Maria Louise Alejado ng Iloilo City at Jhanah Abella ng Oriental Mindoro.

Ang iba pang nanalo ay sina Ysabel Nicole Ja­mero (girls’ 12-13) ng Iloilo, Ralph Justine Dumalanta (boys’ 12-13) ng Candon City, Jomel Delos Reyes (boys’ 14-15) ng La Union, Davine Novo (girls’ 16-17) ng Cagayan at Marvin Mandac (boys’ 16-17) ng Santa Rosa.

Sa gymnastics, walong ginto ang kinuha ng Sta. Rosa tampok ang tig-tatlo nina Erjohn Solibio at Sharrye Sky Maranan sa boys’ 12-13 at girls’ 12-14 trampoline, double mini trampoline at individual all-around, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
