Senior citizens month
Unless dunay mga kausaban, nahan-ay na ang mga kalihokan pagsaulog dinhi sa atong dakbayan sa Senior Citizens Month. Actually, sa tibuok nasud ang unang semana ra sa Oktubre ang gitakda pagsaulog pahinungod sa mga senior citizens.
Apan, dinhi sa ato, usa gyud ka buwan ang kasaulogan, bisan tuod og weekly da ang mga kalihokan, perhaps, pagpakita sa dakung pagtagad ug paghigugma sa dakbayan sa Sugbo ngadto sa mga senior citizens.
Atong kutloon tipik sa Proclamation No. 470: “…… Now, therefore, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue vested in me by law, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 1503, s. 1975, and declare every first week of October of every year as Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino (Elderly Filipino Week).
The DSWD, DOH, DepED, DILG, and Coalition of Services for the Elderly (COSE) shall coordinate with and provide the necessary assistance to the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP) of non-government organization with nationwide machinery for carrying out the activities for the week.
The Secretary of DSWD shall chair the national committee it is to constitute, with FSCAP as permanent Secretariat.â€
Ang Santos nga Misa nga saulogon diha sa Senior Citizens Park, maoy magbukas sa atong pagsaulog sa Senior Citizens Month, kini sa Oktubre 1.
Oct. 11 – Tree Planting diha sa SRP pagasalmotan sa mga Chapter President. Oct. 18 – Blessing sa opisina sa United Senior Citizens Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Cebu City diha sa Ramos market (kanhi supermarket). Oct. 19 – Medical Mission. Oct. 30 – Senior Citizens Congres ug Cultural Show diha sa Cebu Coliseum.
Samtang sa laing bahin, si Rep. Eric Olivarez sa 1st District sa Parañaque City, mimugna og balaudnon, HB No. 2379, nga magpatukod og mga Homes for the Elderly sa tanang lungsod ug dakbayan sa tibuok nasud. Nganong waa man kahunahuna ang atong mga kongresista dinhi?
Hinoon, ang mahinungdanon dinhi mao ang pagpatuman sa existing nga mga balaud sa RA 9257 ug 9994 bahin ini, nga nagkanayon: †…The national government shall include in its national shelter program the special housing needs of senior citizens, such as establishment of housing units for the elderly.â€
So, klaro kaayo, apan, kutob ra man lagi ta sa pagpanggama’g balaud … apan, kulang sa implementation. Maayo pa ang pork barrel kay implement dayon .. pakapinan pa!
