Gustong maging Pilipino citizen ang asawa

Umuwi po kami sa Pilipinas ng aking asawang si Ahmad noong 1990. Nakilala ko po siya sa Malaysia noong 1988 nang ako’y nagtrabaho roon. Doon na rin po kami nagpakasal. Miss na miss ko na po ang pamilya ko at ang Manila kaya niyaya ko po si Ahmad na subukan din ang buhay dito sa atin.

Sa paglipas ng mga taon ay nakukursunadahan na ni Ahmad na permanente nang manirahan dito sa atin. Nagustuhan po kasi n’ya ang kultura at mga kaugalian nating mga Pilipino, lalo na ang aking pamilya.

Ano ba ang naturalization? It is the legal act of adopting a foreigner and clothing him with the privilege of a natural born citizen.

Anu-ano ba ang mga requirements para ma-naturalize si Ahmad dito sa atin? 1) He must be no less than 21 y/o on the day of the hearing of the petition; 2) He must have resided in the Philippines for a continuous period of not less than 10 years; 3) He must be of good moral character and believes in the principles underlying the Philippine Constitution and must have conducted himself in a proper and irreproachable manner during the entire period of his residence in the Philippines in his relation with the constituted government as well as with the community in which he is living; 4) He must own real estate in the Philippines worth not less than P5,000.00 or must have some known lucrative trade, profession or lawful occupation; 5) He must be able to speak and write English or Spanish or any one of the principal Philippine language; and 6) He must have enrolled his minor children of school age in any of the public or private schools recognized by the Philippine Government where Philippine history, government, civic are taught as part of the school curriculum during the entire period of residence in the Philippines required of him prior to the hearing of his petition for naturalization as Philippine citizen.
