PSN Opinyon

Palpak na hostage rescue

KRUSADA - Dante L.A.Jimenez -
IT is not surprising to note the outrage and indignation of our countrymen at the Pasay Police’s botched attempt to rescue and save the life of 4-year-old Dexter Balala at the hands of his cruel hostage taker, Diomedes Talbo in a bus terminal last week.

In the space of a 2-hour standoff between the suspect and police, the lawmen’s incompetence and Lackadaisical approach to the situation clearly surfaced, as the suspect suddenly stabbed the boy repeatedly in the back and the nape.

As the stabbing began, police opened fire on Talbo, raining bullets on both him and the boy, who also sustained four gunshot wounds, one them hitting Dexter just below the heart.

The victims mother believes that it was the bullet in the chest that killed her son, noting the fact that he still could have possibly survived the stab wounds inflicted by the hostage taker had police taken extra care in handling the situation.

Already, the PNP leadership had already relieved Pasay Police Chief Eduardo dela Cerna, who acted as ground possibility of killing him in the process.

May kaso pa silang hinaharap ngayon dahil sa palpak na hostage rescue at wala tayong magagawa kundi tanggapin na lang ang trahedya. Sana huwag nang maulit ang pangyayari sa hinaharap.
