But Sen. Legarda later on said that they (senators) did not send Ador to jail. She explained that Ador’s was detained until such time that he could come up with substantive document to support his allegation.
But a review of the incidents that led to Ador’s contempt citation shows that he did not commit any act that justifies the senate’s exercise of that authority, he did not do anything that tended to obstruct or interrupt the committee investigation.
There is no surprise why Ador would be released shortly after his detention. After all, he is a witness that is a vital cog in the wheels of justice grinding against Lacson and his cohorts.
Neither did Ador refuse to answer a question addressed to him or perform any act that was disrespectful to the members of the committee, or to the senate as a whole.
While he may have said something that Legarda did’nt like, she is not the senate personified. She is in fact, only one of 24 senators. Ang nakalulungkot pa dito ay nang nag-motion si Senator Nene Pimentel na i-detain si Ador ay nag-second the motion si Legarda na siyang tinamaan ng pahayag ni Ador.
Dahil sa pangyayaring ito, tila lumalaki pa ang suporta para kay Ador mula sa kanyang mga kababayan. Malinaw na marami ang hindi natuwa sa pagiging pikon ng ilan sa mga senador sa nasabing imbestigasyon.
Samantala, nagmistulang ‘‘circus’’ ang mga kaganapan sa Senado, dahil sa animo’y pag-atras-abante ng ating mga senador sa pagpapasiya kung ano nga ba ang gagawin nito sa mga akusasyon laban kay Lacson.
Like in any circus act, the many twists and turns taking place in the senate can at times be very amusing, as our countrymen anticipate with interect (or apprehension) the events will be unfolding next, Abangan muli!
