President Trump's immigration policies
Unlike the more liberal immigration policies of the Democrats under the Biden and Obama administrations, President Donald Trump, true to his major campaign platform, is now implementing some very rigid and uncompromising anti-illegal immigrant policies and procedures. Targeted are notorious aliens from South America, Asia, and the Middle East.
The Filipinos in the US who entered under questionable circumstances are facing serious threats of deportation. And those who intend to migrate to America will find it more difficult to enter the land of milk and honey now that President Trump is in the White House. All the borders have become much stricter and immigration personnel in all US airports, seaports, and land entrances in boundaries north and south are using very sophisticated methods to detect illegal entrants.
Trump's strategic thrust called MAGA, or Make America Great Again, considers it one of the most important policy changes to prevent drug addicts, psychologically-sick, mentally-deranged, and criminally-inclined aliens from entering any US territory. These executive thrusts enjoy legislative support, it being clear that both the US Senate and the House are now being controlled by Trump's Republican Party. Most of the governors are also Republicans and they are pledged to give impetus to this renewed efforts at ridding the US of undesirable aliens.
Almost 80% of the Republican senators and congressmen are supporting Trump in his massive deportation of criminals who have committed felonies inside the country, and those prison escapees. Priorities for deportation are those who have escaped from the legal authorities in their respective countries and sought asylum in America, including fugitives of justice as well as aliens charged fortransnational crimes like gunrunning, trafficking in persons, smuggling, and drug trades.
There shall be massive arrests of undocumented aliens, including those without valid visas and expired passports, apprehended in the streets, workplaces, malls, schools, and even aboard land, sea, and air vehicles inside American territories. Federal agents, the National Guard, local police authorities, and state detectives are under specific orders to challenge any foreign-looking individuals and demand presentation of passports with valid working, tourist, or study visas.
Four to five million Mexicans, Columbians, Cubans, and other South Americans and nationals of Caribbean island states who have entered the US in the last three to five years with temporary parole and notices to appear in Immigration courts are now being sought and pursued. The Trump administration has no compassion for drug traffickers and those who smuggle hot items from China via southern states friendly to Beijing, specifically Chile and other new allies of Xi Jinping in South America.
The Trump government is also very keen on detecting terrorists from Yemen, Iran, Lebanon, and other anti-American countries. There is also a special instruction to be very vigilant against spies sent by China to infiltrate America and gather information to give aid and comfort to Beijing's People Liberation Army. The same is true about probable spies from the Kremlin who might be deployed by Vladimir Putin and his ally, North Korea's Kim Jong-un.
Trump's outlook is one of suspicion and lack of trust in contrast to Biden and Obama’s which were based on good faith and inclusivity regardless of ideology, color, race, culture, or political beliefs. This is an entirely different America and we should all be aware of the new policies and protocols.
