“You were a part of our family’s soul”

PERSPECTIVE - Charry Ballescas - The Freeman

Do please allow our family this moment of tribute for our dear Jose Albert "Butch" Borja (November 1, 1951 - September 5, 2024).

“Wake will be held from Sept 7 PM to Sept 10. His ashes will be laid to rest at the Loay Cemetery (Yanangan) in Bohol on Sept. 12 at 11AM. “(Posted by sister Judith, Lapulapu City, Cebu)

From Tia Rosy (Cebu City): “Am shocked.”

From “Oyong” Froilan (CDO): “this is sooo painful. rest easy, Butch.”

From cousin Jumbo in Germany:

“In our lives, there are people who hold such a special place in our hearts that we wish they could stay with us forever. You, Nong Butz were one of those people. You weren’t just a cousin—you were a part of our family’s soul.

From the smallest moments to the biggest milestones, you were there, always bringing love, laughter, and warmth into our lives. It’s hard to imagine family gatherings without your smile or the way you made everyone feel at home. You had a way of making everything brighter, even on the darkest days. Losing you feels like losing a part of ourselves.

But even though you're not here physically, you will always be a part of who we are now. We’ll carry you with us in every story we tell, in every laugh we share and in every tear we shed for missing you. You’ll always be with us, in our hearts, where you’ve always belonged. We love you and we always will.”

From cousin Ike (Las Vegas): “So sad about this. Nagkita pa mi last year when I was there in Cebu. Our sincere condolences to Judith/Tom/Jing/Pecks. May Butch rest in the eternal peace of God.”

From nephew Bobby (Australia): “Rest in peace in heaven, Tito Butch. Thank you so much for all the happy memories. Mahal na mahal kita chong! Kitakits puhon.”

From nephew Jongjong (Antipolo): “RIP Tito Butch, one of my regular prayer warriors for my daughter Sam especially when she was undergoing Chemo. Tito Butch also took me to the emergency room when I was having intense pain in my gall bladder 21 yrs ago at 3am, when I was in Cebu in Tia Rosie’s house. He did not leave me until I got discharged. I will never forget that. We will miss you Tito Butch. Such a very kind uncle.”

From niece Bubbles (New York): “I am very, very sorry to hear about Tito Butch. There are a few Borjas and Gallardos up there - I am pretty sure they are having a very noisy gathering.

Tita Judith/Tita Jing/Tito Pecks/Tito Tom - my heart goes to each of you.”

From nephew Don (Pasig, Rizal): “Rest in peace Tito butch. Maraming salamat sa mga magagandang alaala. We love you so much.”

From niece Vanvan (Talisay, Cebu):

“Thank you for your life spent with us Uncle Butch. I will always cherish our moments and the memories spent together when we were still kids, growing up bonding with you during our summer/christmas breaks, up until now that we have become adults and have our own families. We will cherish our lunch dates/ice cream/coffee, you watching/playing with Belle and Caris.

As Belle said last night, I will miss his frog voice!

You were our Uncle Robot now turned Lolo Robot / Lolo Frog.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Butch. Give my regards to Daddy/Lolo Nene/Lola Soling.”

From apo DJ: “But I wanted to jump on him more!”

And his mommy Aiko (Talamban, Cebu): “We will miss you. The kids will definitely miss you. Rest easy, Tito.”

From cousin-in-law Orly (Talamban, Cebu): “Butch, an angel in the midst of chaos.”

From us all: “Thank You, Lord, for sharing Butch with us.”

“Rest now in God’s eternal love and peace, our dearest Butch.”
