SC: No evidence of data breach

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court has found no evidence of a data breach or any indication that SC records were compromised.

SC spokesperson Camille Sue Mae Ting issued the statement after a group of cybersecurity enthusiasts claimed that the high tribunal had been the target of a data breach, which compromised sensitive information from over 13,000 court records.

According to Deep Web Konek on social media platform X, the leaked data, including names, case details, and payment information were believed to have been uploaded online.

A hacker group known as “Grep” has claimed responsibility for the breach.

“As of this afternoon, the SC and its service providers found no evidence of a data breach or indication that sensitive data was compromised,” Ting said.

She said the SC would continue to investigate the matter, “employing the right amount of redundancy by approaching the probe from many angles.”

The high court will also review its cybersecurity systems, Ting said.
