Kamala blitzkrieg, derailing the Trump juggernaut
Presidential candidate Donald Trump was roaring like the Lion King after his one-sided debate with incumbent President Joe Biden. He was arrogantly spreading his political wings proudly like an ostentatious peacock in front of lesser birds. He even had the temerity of using his alleged attempted assassination as a point with which to mock the current Democrat administration. But not too long. Then came Kamala Harris.
The supreme sacrifice made by President Biden in removing himself from the presidential race was definitely a very jolting event that caught the Trump campaign by surprise. But the unkindest cut of all, from the viewpoint of Donald Trump, was the endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris by President Biden. This was never expected by the Trump strategists. They were not prepared for it. All their political bullets were designed to attack Biden, all the research works and the intelligence data-gathering were pointed at Biden. The unexpected entry of Kamala Harris caught the Trump campaign team off-guard. They were dumbfounded, and even terrified at the thought of fighting against a woman.
The genius of putting up a female candidate who is a black Asian-American was like a thunderbolt that hit the Trump camp to their inner guts. Here is a lady prosecutor now challenging their candidate who has been prosecuted and convicted of multiple federal felonies. This is a woman with guts, glitz, and gumption, daring, aggressive, and a very brave public official. She brings a lot of excitement to the campaign and has renewed the fading hopes among Democrats. In less than a day, the Democratic campaign received an unprecedented amount of more than $83 million, the biggest campaign contributions in one day in all US history. Many campaign donors have returned to the fold and are excited to put their money where their hearts are.
In less than two days, more than 70% of the Democratic Party Convention delegates have declared their support for Vice President Harris. She became the virtual nominee even when the Democratic Party Convention is still a month away. The biggest delegations are now pledged and committed to Harris, like Florida (the new home state of Trump) with 224 voting delegates, California, her home state, of course, with a whopping 424 delegates, Texas with 244, Georgia with 108, New York with 268, New Jersey with 126, Ohio with 127, Pennsylvania with 159, North Carolina with 116, Virginia with 99, Maryland with 95, Massachusetts with 92, and Wisconsin with 82. Almost 30 out of 50 states have already declared their support. As of July 24, 79% of the 3,949 delegates already jumped into the Harris wagon.
The black voters are coming back to the Democrats' party, so also the Hispanics, the youth, and most especially the women voters. When Biden was the official candidate, the young voters were leaving as well as the blacks and the Asians. Now, they are back and are joining the labor sector, the working class, the Catholics, the evangelicals, the pro-choice advocates, and even the LGBTQIA++. That is why the Trump camp has a huge headache. The changing of horses in midstream caught them flatfooted. The Trump boys were totally unprepared for such a clever move. Now, it is the Republicans who are in disarray. They are wracking their heads on how to defeat this woman, Kamala.
To me, God has a message to the American people, who were praying very hard to be saved from another Trump presidency, which was designed to favor such multi-billionaires like Elon Musk, Trump's biggest contributor. The American working class are happy that Kamala will give them a government that assures healthcare, job security, and reproductive freedom for the women. Kamal needs a backup and she should choose a vice president who is strong in foreign affairs and on immigration.
I think she already have a shortlist of three or four alternatives. This coming November presidential election will see one of the highest turnouts in all US history. Too much is at stake. Democracy is on the ballot. Freedom is at stake.
