Aside from Bamban mayor, indict bribees of China spies
Is Bamban mayor Alice Guo a China sleeper? Senators are probing beyond her ties to offshore Chinese gambling that branched out to human trafficking and cyber scamming. But investigating possible spying is vital to national security.
Did ex-president Duterte promise China to not repair BRP Sierra Madre? Congressmen can easily link him to 7,000 drug killings. But proving a plot to sink the Navy ship is crucial for national survival.
Aside from Guo and Duterte, other officials need indicting. First are Immigration bureau bribees.
In 2016-2018, 3.12 million Chinese nationals were granted residency (The STAR, June 9, 2018). Most work in offshore gaming for Chinese high rollers. “Immigration floodgates were thrown open in one of the most remarkable subversions in recent history,” Demetrius Cox wrote that month in Journal of Political Risk.
It took 196,000 Japanese soldiers to invade the Philippines in 1941 and a million Germans to take Poland in 1939. But Duterte increased the Philippine population, then at 103 million, by three percent, Cox noted:
“In China’s long game this is an important development. It is effectively colonizing a democratic neighbor and treaty ally of its chief rival, USA, while driving a strategic wedge deep into the Western Pacific – without firing a shot.
“China’s illegal construction of five man-made island fortresses in the South China Sea has elicited outrage. But it’s laughing at the world. The landing of a People’s Liberation Army-Air Force IL-76 at Davao City on June 8 suggests that China is buying and colonizing a 7,100-island unsinkable aircraft carrier, while threateningly encircling and containing every regional neighbor and rival.”
Many Chinese entered via Subic Freeport, Zambales. Each paid P60,000 under the table. Bribed too were Philippine consulate personnel in China.
Also corrupted was Philippine Retirement Authority. Of 78,000 aliens given permanent residencies, 30,000 were Chinese. Many were 35 years old – soldiery age, noted Sen. Nancy Binay last April.
Four Chinese gangsters had been nabbed earlier holding special resident retiree visas. “Interdictions of Chinese with authentic government-issued documents identifying them as Filipino traders or retirees has become a national security concern,” Binay said.
“The National Intelligence Coordinating Agency must assess the scale of fraud perpetrated by these syndicates. Check the addresses and contact numbers provided in their ‘valid’ documents.”
Next, Philippine Coast Guard, which recently embarrassedly dismissed 36 Chinese from the PCG Auxiliary. “There are more left,” said retired Lt. Gen. Edilberto Adan, chairman of Advocates for National Interest consisting of former Armed Forces, Air Force, Navy and Army chiefs.
“Recruitment of Chinese to PCGA went on for years. They were welcomed after giving donations, including food. Some have married Filipinas and own yachts to qualify for PCGA. Treated as VIPs, they’re able to dock anywhere in the Philippines. Who knows if they surveil the West Philippine Sea.”
The National Police is part of the security apparatus. Yet unscrupulous personnel protect Chinese nationals instead. Many cops have been exposed escorting Chinese gamblers and junket operators. Latest was last week: a corporal and a private first class of the elite Special Action Force.
Were private entities suborned too? Four hundred sixty Chinese students are enrolled in Cagayan’s St. Paul University. Speaking no English or Filipino, they don’t attend classes, UP Prof. Chester Cabalza exposed in April. Aged 30-35, they each paid up to P2 million to enroll, plus more for stooges to sit in for them. Cagayan State University Professor Emeritus Fr. Ranhilio Aquino confirmed the scheme.
Cagayan faces Taiwan, which Beijing plans to invade as a renegade province. It hosts two Army bases where US forces train. The Chinese “students” could be monitoring them. Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba prefers military drills with China, not America.
The Commission on Higher Education authorizes St. Paul’s, as an autonomous institution, to hold exchange student programs. Immigration issued 1,516 student visas to Chinese mainlanders, of which 460 arrived.
Police have raided four Metro Manila mansions of Chinese gamblers and cyber scammers. Late-model assault rifles and automatic pistols were interdicted. Who sold them those? Also found were helmets, bulletproof vests and Chinese flags.
Chinese have flocked to Multinational Village in Parañaque City. Although in civvies, they jog in platoon formation under a drill master. Rented houses have been converted into exclusive restaurants and spas. They’ve bought 800 subdivision car stickers.
In 2017, senator Panfilo Lacson revealed that 3,000 Chinese spies were embedded in Philippine communities, businesses and civic organizations. Some have married Filipinas in order to purchase land.
The “sleepers” will awaken in case of war with Communist China. Lenin bragged that he needed only a handful of professional revolutionaries to turn Russia upside down.
