President Sergio Osmeña’s appointees in Leyte - Part 6

Don Sergio Suico Osmeña Sr., who became the first and only Cebuano to become president, took his oath in the United States on August 1, 1944 upon the death of President Quezon. He came to the Philippines on October 20, 1944 together with Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the famous, Leyte Landings. Osmeña made the Leyte Provincial Capitol as his office. The following were his appointees in the Province of Leyte:

Simeon Advincula, appointed acting vice mayor of Tanawan, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Antonio de Veyra, J. Climaco Regis, Nazario Dondan, Rufo Cumpio, and Juan Mercado, appointed acting councilors of Tanawan, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Teofilo Gaviola, appointed acting mayor, and Jose Gaviola, acting vice mayor of Maripipi, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Ciriaco Rosanto, Dionisia Pedrosa, Bienvenido Pelguera, Sergio Mondoy, Porfirio Lazaro and Severino Gil, appointed acting councilors of Maripipi, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Antonio Arante, appointed acting vice mayor of Leyte, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Anacleto Espina, Alfredo Gotayco, Pedro Arante, Esteban Arante, Timoteo Tadea, and Juan V. Delantar, appointed acting councilors of Leyte, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Joaquin Espeleta, appointed acting mayor, and Mateo H. Pastor, acting vice mayor of San Isidro, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Clotilde Martinez, Germanico G. Veloso Ocrohilla and Manuel de Lara, appointed acting councilors of San Isidro, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Esteban Macheca, Apolonio Macabos, Burgos de los Reyes, Severo Espero, Vicente Macabulos, and Elias Morillo, appointed acting councilors of Kawayan, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Nicanor Acebedo, Adela Pacheco, Antaro Agmen, Hospicio Margallo, and Felicidad Ragas, appointed acting councilors of Palo, Leyte, October 18, 1945.

Fidel Limpiado, appointed acting mayor, and Graciano Farma, acting vice mayor of Naval, Leyte, October 18, 1945.
