President Sergio Osmeña’s appointees in Leyte - Part 4

Don Sergio Suico Osmeña Sr., who became the first and only Cebuano to become president, took his oath in the United States on August 1, 1944 upon the death of President Quezon. He came to the Philippines on October 20, 1944 together with Gen. Douglas MacArthur in the famous, Leyte Landings. Osmeña made the Leyte Provincial Capitol as his office. The following were his appointees in the Province of Leyte:

Domiciano C. Lambo, acting provincial fiscal of the Province of Leyte, date of appointment, February 5. 1945.

Mariano C. Melendres, appointed acting judge, Samar, March 27, 1945.

Clementino V. Diez, appointed acting judge, Leyte (Tacloban), June 7, 1945.

Salvador K. Demeterio, appointed provincial governor of Leyte, July 14, 1945.

Ildefonso D. Jimenez, appointed, ad interim, Provincial Treasurer and Assessor of Leyte, July 14, 1945.

Ildefonso, D. Gimenez, appointed, ad interim, provincial treasurer of Leyte, October 4, 1945.

Marcelo Opus, appointed acting mayor of Pintuyan, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Godofredo Medina, appointed acting mayor of Baybay, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Alberto Enaje, appointed acting mayor of Biliran, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Pio Melgar, appointed acting mayor of Gapuscan, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Prudencio Fevidal, appointed acting mayor of Jaro, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Gregorio Edillo, appointed acting mayor of, Libagon, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Escolastico Cabrera, appointed acting mayor of Maasin, Leyte, October 6, 1945.

Ramon de Jesus, appointed acting mayor of Anhawan, Leyte, October 6, 1945.
