Presidential Proclamation on Carbon Market Donation

Here is a copy of President Diosdado Macapagal’s proclamation. Carmelo Street has been renamed as Pedro Lopez Street while Progreso Street has been renamed as Gov. Jose Leyson, finally unveiled in 2018 with CEBUpedia’s numerous meetings and calls for its implementation as the city ordinance renaming was enacted on August 5, 1971:

PROCLAMATION NO. 241

RESERVING FOR MARKET SITE PURPOSES A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CEBU, ISLAND OF CEBU.

Upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources and pursuant to the authority vested in me by law, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby withdraw from sale or settlement and reserve for market site purposes, under the administration of the City of Cebu, subject to the private rights, if any there be, a certain parcel of land of the public domain situated in the City of Cebu, Island of Cebu, and more particularly described as follows, to wit:

Lot 913

Cebu Cadastre, Cad. 12

“A parcel of land (Lot 913 of the cadastral survey of Cebu, L.H.C. Cad. Record No.     ), situated in Cebu City. Bounded on the NE., along line 1-2 by Calle N. Carmelo; on the SE., along line 2-3 by Lot 3010, Cebu Cadastre; on the SW., along line 3-4 by Calle Washington; and on the NW., along line 4-1 by Calle Progreso. Beginning at a point marked “1” on plan, being N. 88 deg. 33', W., 671.61 m. from B.L.L.M. 1, Cebu Cadastre, Cad. 12,

thence S.                             14 deg. 03'          S., 69.82 m. to point 2;

thence S.                             75 deg. 19‘          W., 80.53 m. to point 3;

thence N.                            15 deg. 08'          W., 70.22 m. to point 4;

thence N.                            75 deg. 36'          E., 81.87 m. to point 1; point

of beginning; containing an area of FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY FIVE (5,685) SQUARE METERS. All points referred to are marked on the ground by Old Corners; bearings true; dated of cadastral survey, Dec., 1910 to Feb., 1912.”

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 13th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-four.
