The ‘greedy’ neighbor

THE EAR - The Freeman

While others have nurtured a sense of community in this time of pandemic, some have remained in their “old, bad, greedy” ways. Take, for instance, this neighbor of an EAR informer who has been cultivating her kamunggay (horse raddish) in her backyard. The informer was preparing tinolang manok but his Qpass bore an even number. Only holders of odd numbered Qpasses were allowed that day.

“So I asked if I could buy some of her malunggay,” the informer said, “but she refused. So I asked if I could get just a few leaf stalks but she also refused.” As renters of an apartment, the informer said they did not have any room to plant their own kamunggay.
