Lament for an old house

JUST GONE. A balikbayan who always enjoyed the sight of an old house in her neighborhood was dismayed to find that it had been torn down. The building, seemingly designed in the style of old American architecture and probably built before the war, seems to have vanished in the blink of an eye.

“Mao g’yud ni nakaapan sa ato mga Pinoy, di g’yud ta kabalo mo-appreciate sa mga karaan nga structures,” she was heard saying.
