Ignoring the sign

There was a huge "20" sign at the entrance of the underpass in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, reported an EAR informer who was riding a motorcycle-for-hire (habal-habal) to her destination one early night.

According to the informer, she took the sign as a warning to motorists to keep their vehicles at a speed of 20kph while traversing the depressed road.

To her surprise, though, the motorcycle instead revved it up while crossing the dark underpass. "As if nakakita'g ungo (As if he saw a monster)," she said.
