THE EAR - The Freeman

FOOTWEAR. A civic club composed mostly of descendants of Boholano immigrants in Hilo, Hawaii collected several boxes of footwear--shoes, slippers, boots--intended as "second hand gifts" for the indigent victims of the earthquake that had rocked Bohol.

UNDELIVERED. The footwear never got delivered, according to an Ear informer, because the Cebuano seaman who was requested to help facilitate the delivery of the footwear said aside from having made to pay a certain amount there were many other requirements to be met and his stay at the port was brief.
