Private trisikad

THE EAR - The Freeman

TRISIKAD. Every Saturday or Sunday Sir John and his wife Ma'am Ginnie would go marketing at the Carbon Market riding in the family owned private trisikad. Both are known as doctors (Ph.D.) in their village. They have a car but Sir John prefers to go to market in his trisikad. "Hayahay ug daa na eksersayis," he said to our Ear informer.

NABBED. Husband and wife have been going to market using the trisikad for almost a year. No problem. But one Sunday recently they were apprehended by a man claiming to be a Citom traffic enforcer. They were told trisikads are not allowed to travel on major city streets. "Sayud na ko ana,' Sir John said. "Pero abi ko exempted ang private trike." Even then he paid the fine and went home pushing the trisikad," according to our informer.
