Birthday rice

RICE. A Chinese sari-sari store owner in Katipunan street has made it his personal birthday tradition to give neighbors rice ranging from three kilos to five kilos depending on the size of his neighbors (that is, the number of members). He told an Ear informer that it was his three daughters who initiated this tradition after he survived a heart attack five years ago in Bohol.

VOW. He said even if sometimes he gets into some financial problems, he always pursues his vow to give his neighbors (the marginalized ones) what he now calls his birthday rice.
