Bus seats

THE EAR - The Freeman

BUS RIDER. The South-bound bus had more than enough passengers for the available seats. A young Caucasian woman stood up to give her seat to an old woman standing on the aisle. As she left her seat two men rushed to take over. When told that the Caucasian was giving her seat to the old woman, one of the two men tried to argue saying: "Pareho ra bitaw ang plite ta."

COMMENT. One passenger said to be a balikbayan commented that in America old passengers are given priority seats even by school children. "I have not seen this kind of good behavior in our buses," she said.
