Bonifacio Janairo, 86, called up to say something about the controversial acacia trees. He said he was a gardener of an American schoolteacher and he helped plant a few of those acacia trees. Most acacia trees, he said, were planted near government buildings like hospitals, school, and public markets.

OVERHEARD. Continuous heavy rains caused terrible flooding never seen before in many Muslim areas in Mindanao. In some places floodwater reached some houses' rooftops, so reports said. Comment: "So nag-unsa man ang mga Abu Sayyaf?" Reply: "Namahuway unah og pangidnap hadlok maanud sa baha."
