PNoy in the US! The heckling hasn't stopped

SHOOTING STRAIGHT - Bobit S. Avila - The Freeman

During the Independence Day celebration in Naga City last June 12th, when for the first time, Pres. Benigno Aquino III did not raise the Philippine Flag at the Luneta, when PNoy was speaking at the Ateneo de Naga University, Mr. Em Mijares, a 19-year-old psychology student of that university heckled the President. He was immediately detained and charged. At this time, we have no idea whatever happened to that young lad who was so frustrated that he heckled the President's speech.

We know too well what happened to Department of Budget and Management Sec. Florencio Abad when he went to the University of the Philippines  last weekend for a speech. He too was heckled, thrown with coins and literally man-handled by angry students who couldn't bear listening to the lies of Sec. Abad in defending the Disbursement Acceleration Program that has been declared as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Indeed, Sec. Abad should stop defending the indefensible.

Meanwhile while last Tuesday, Pres. Benigno Aquino III was in the US speaking at Columbia University, two young women and a young man heckled the President's speech. They belong to that women's group dubbed Gabriela. Police authorities held another man when he tried to heckle the President during his speech in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

What's happened to the Aquino Regime today is very reminiscent of the dying days of the conjugal Marcos Dictatorship. When PNoy returns to the Philippines, he can expect more protests to hound him whenever he has a speaking engagement. This may start with mere heckling. But what happened at the UP last weekend tells us that the students have raised the ante and will even manhandle the President's men. I will not even think of what next these students will do. In this age of information, they already know what is the truth and what is propaganda and they are not taking things sitting down like most of us in the Silent Majority!

Incidentally on that same day that PNoy was heckled, he was also asked to comment on the alleged corruption of Philippine National Police chief Alan Purisima who is facing plunder charges for his luxurious house in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija and for the anomalous renovation of his official quarters in Camp Crame. But the President instead of keeping mum on this issue just defended the PNP chief saying that he had known Purisima since 1987 when he was a member of his mother's security group. He added that he does not know if Purisima is greedy or extravagant. Obviously PNoy isn't telling us what he really knows about his PNP chief.

There he goes again defending those people close to him even if the evidence against his people is very strong. Like what I said, the success of the proposed lifestyle check for all PNP officers depends on how the Aquino Regime acts on the case of PNP chief Purisima. At this point, Sen. Grace Poe already asked that Purisima take a leave of absence. But we know that crooks have no conscience and I don't expect the PNP chief to take a leave of absence or even resign for as long as the President still trusts him. As for us, we no longer trust Pres. Aquino for he has lost his moral right to rule this country amidst the corruption hounding his allies.

Open your satellite television to any of the top news sources, CNN, BBC, Al-Jazeera and you will get the breaking news of the day that the a US led Coalition with Arab States targeting specifically Islam State of Iraq and Syria had begun their coordinated attacks within Iraq and Syria. CNN reports that America today is under imminent danger of an ISIS attack by a lone wolf suicide bomber, thus the US today is on a heightened alert.

While this coalition has not yet included Britain and France, but they are expected to join very soon because of the beheadings by ISIS of an English volunteer in Iraq and just yesterday the beheading of a French citizen. Thus I share the sentiments of Pope Francis who said that we are already in the midst of World War III. If you were watching closely at the events in Ukraine where they just had a ceasefire with Ukrainian Separatist rebels, that ceasefire wasn't really holding and thus the fighting has continued.

Meanwhile back home in the Philippines, while Congress is now deliberating the so-called "Bangsamoro Law," a chilling news came from a report from Basilan Mayor Joel Maturan who said that ISIS has already entered Basilan and he further said that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters have openly allied with ISIS and he suspects them to be recruiting freedom fighters in his town. Hmmm, shouldn't this be of concern to our members of Congress, that while ISIS is fighting to get territory in Iraq or Syria, the Philippine Congress is giving them a legal home to stay? Will the BIFF start beheading Christians that they will kidnap? Abangan!
