These news stories came out Sept. 11 on the same page of the PhilSTAR; "Hulidap cop is worth P6.5-M"; "3 Manila policemen rob seaman, wife"; "Cop in EDSA 'hulidap' surenders,"; "Witness says cop killed Pastor," and the umbrella head of the same paper said "More reports of extort-cop emerges."

It says here that 13 were killed when a Ford Fiera fell into a deep ravine in Benguet because its hand brake failed. This time it's not the foot brake that is blamed. Someday when they run out of excuses, the ravine and the cliff will be faulted.

Port congestion has been of late a serious problem in Manila. A shipping beat reporter of my acquaintance suggests Phl port officials to study how Singapore, a small island, manages to keep its port in order. Let it be known that Singapore is the world's No. 2 busiest port in total tonnage. "You haven't heard of Singapore having port congestion problem," he said.
