The People' Reform Movement, led by lawyer Reuben R. Canoy, is joining these talks about the 2016 presidential election. Reuben is telling us loud and clear that the Movement's best bet in the race is Digong Duterte.

Digong is Mayor Rodulfo Duterte of Davao City. Digong hasn't yet said yes or no but Reuben says the Movement will soon officially urge Duterte to seek the post which many Manila-based politicos have their eyes on. It's a quixotic enterprise, someone was heard saying that. But no, not Reuben Canoy.

In nominating Digong Duterte for President, Canoy says he's just trying to help put the right man for the right job at the right time. He can't think of any other man cut out for the job.

A camera toting balikbayan rushed to Naga (Cebu) upon arrival at the Mactan Cebu International Airport to take photos of the giant old trees being cut down. He wanted to take pictures of the trees before they're sawed off the ground.

The balikbayan, a retired restaurant cook in San Francisco, Calif. said some of those trees were planted by his lolo. "They were much needed at the time," he said. "Well, they're not needed anymore so they got to go," he said not interposing objection to the government decision to get rid of the trees.

The balikbayan who identified himself only as Metyong said he was taking photos of the "still standing trees" for the benefit of the grandkids of his lolo who planted some of those trees.

The Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center has deferred accepting Cebu City patients pending the P2-M city deposit. Someone has advised the city patients to be patient.

OVERHEARD. There are talks about extending PNoy's term by another six years. The common comments I overheard are: "Oh, my God!" and "Come again. Unsa to?"
