Effigy

EFFIGY. While watching on tv the militant protesters burning President  PNoy's effigy, a visitor from an Asian country was heard saying to his host, a mediaman: "You must be grateful to God for living in a free country."

UNKNOWN. The foreign visitor said before he came here he did not know what an effigy was, pronouncing the word "epiggi". He said he had not seen an effigy, let alone a burning effigy, in his country.

NOT IN HIS COUNTRY. Another Asian visitor of the same mediaman said rallyists and policemen in "hand-to-hand" fighting does not happen in his country. The mediaman answered: "I know why."
