EDITORIAL - Happy Easter!

Today sees another observance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, one of the most important days across Christendom. For Christians, this celebration is as sacred as the one that rejoices the birth of Christ.  

However, it's unfortunate that many have already forgotten the essence of Christ's resurrection. While millions mark his rise from the dead with ultimate joy, many would just treat it as just another ordinary day.

For many, today is the best way to hit the beach to beat the summer heat, as they take advantage of the last day of the long holiday because it's back to their normal job routine tomorrow.

In the Bible, it is said that Christ's resurrection happened on the third day after he died on the cross. In His sermon, He had already told His disciples about His journey to death and resurrection.

However, after all the mourning over the loss of their master, the disciples and followers greeted with ecstasy His resurrection. In the end, before returning to His Father, Christ told His disciples to spread the good news about salvation.

Salvation means believing in Christ and accepting Him as personal savior. Of course, Christians do believe in Christ. But accepting Him and living according to His rules are another story.

Christ had suffered on the cross because of His great love for mankind. And the purpose of His death was to cleanse us from sin. Through only Him there is salvation.

That is why man needs to repent and come to the Lord for his redemption. God has promised that man, by shedding all his evil ways and accepting Christ as his personal savior, will inherit the heavenly kingdom.  

God had sent His Son Jesus Christ to the world to suffer and die so man has a chance at salvation. And by His grace we are saved. Happy Easter!
