Peace at last?
It says here that Phl is running out of barbers and hairdressers. There's not much money in the barbershop business anymore. What with the kind of hairstyles Pinoys have been adopting. If not “upaw style" they go for "uncombed hair style."

"Chinese to Malaysians: Return our relatives," says the headline. This refers to the Malaysia Airlines tragedy where 239 passengers mostly Chinese died. They're always demanding something impossible. Like handing to them the islands/islets owned by the Phl in the West Philippine Sea.

Rev. Fr. Roberto Reyes, known as the running priest, has advised Aldrin Jeff Cudia, the PMA cadet dismissed allegedly for lying to raise his head high. Maybe because in this country lying is everyone's business. If anyone tells you he doesn't lie, he's lying.

This year some 553,706 college students are to graduate. Of this number only 9,109 are from the agriculture and fishery field. That's good enough. At least, the disciplines which could keep the Pinoy stomach going haven't been zeroed.

The newsman said many calamity-hit areas in Mindanao are still suffering "perhaps much more than those in some areas in Leyte and Samar." He said while these places are beginning to recover because of "massive foreign help" many places in the Davao area are still flooded and many of the people homeless.

My long lost friend Garry Asuncion called up to comment on an item I wrote about the US-Phl talks on military bases. He said he was for the return of the US bases in the country. "I don't give a damn to what the oppositionists say," he said. "Mao ra nay paagi nga hunungan na tag bully sa uban madaug-daugon nga nasud," Garry said.

OVERHEARD. People on the streets are also talking about the "dawn of peace" brought about by the signing of the peace treaty between the Phl government and the Bangsamoro. The manager of a grocery store on Colon said, "Maayo unta’g human sa pinirmahay mosunod na ang kompletong kalinaw." But one of his tinderos said: "Asang kalinaw, Sir, ba. Mo-resign ko kon sud sa usa ka tuig human sa pinirmahay wa na tay madungog nga kasamok sa Mindanao."
