Pocket money

THE EAR - The Freeman

EARRINGS. An evacuee from Tacloban tried to pawn her pair of earrings because she wanted to have some pocket money while in the evacuation center. Knowing she was an evacuee, the pawnshop manager after examining the genuineness of the gold earrings, just gave the evacuee some money and told her to keep her jewelry.

DONATION. "Ako tong donation sa usa ka biktima sa bagyo, dili to limos," the pawnshop manager, who happened to be Waray, told our Ear informer. The young woman was ashamed to accept the money, our informer said. But accepted it with thanks when the pawnshop manager said it was his donation to a typhoon victim.
