Just making sure

THE EAR - The Freeman

UNMARKED GRAVE. For two days, a man visited an unmarked grave in the Carreta Cemetery, lighting a candle and bringing flowers last All Saints' and All Souls' days. People nearby noticed he seemed careful in looking around to see if other people were leaving offerings or candles and flowers for the unmarked grave before putting his own.

JUST MAKING SURE. When those nearby could no longer contain their curiosity, they asked him about the unmarked grave. "Basin ako 'ning tiyo," he told them, "mora'g gisugdan nila'g ugkat unya gitabonan balik. Pero wala na gibalik ang lapida." He said he came to the conclusion that if no one else left offerings at the grave it was still his uncle in there.
