Religious belief poses problem to patient's doctors

THE EAR - The Freeman

NO TO TRANSFUSION.  There is a religion which does not allow blood transfusion on its members even if the member needs it to save her life. The doctors attending to the patients are at a loss for the right action to take, respecting as they do the religious beliefs of the patient and the family members.

WHAT TO DO? One of the doctors said it is the doctor's duty to save the patient's life. The last word our Ear informer heard from the attending doctors was they would seek legal advice from a competent court. "Gusto gyud nila salbaron ang pasyente," our informer said.
