Let the cookie crumble

A third grader said to a classmate: "Gamay ra baon ko, Bay. Ingon si Mama wa man gud pork barrel si Papa."

Replied the classmate: "Maynuon na, Bay, kon way pork barrel si Papa mo. Sa ato pa dili kurap si Papa mo."

The mama of the first boy was of course just joking, using the controversial pork barrel as the butt of the joke. But the joke didn't sink in, in the minds of the kids.

There is an urgent need, I think, for grownups to disabuse the thinking of the graders regarding the pork barrel. Do it now before they start talking about fake NGOs.

This news here says the Phl banana industry continues to be "up and up." Meaning our banana business is not sagging? Despite the typhoons and floods that left some banana plantations sogging?

Everyone is hoping Janet Napoles will soon start talking...talking not about her cozy detention cell but about the whole truth and nothing but the truth about the leading stars in the scam cast. But is asking her to talk and name names not like "suntok sa buwan"?

I am not conversant about government corruption but I know revealing the names of powerful suspects is not an easy cookie to crack, which is Napoles' problem. The suspicious public may be aware of the names involved but only the arrested suspect can make the cookie crumble.

"Napoles On Suicide Watch," says the Phil Star banner last Monday (Sept. 2). Her custodians are making sure no harm would come to this "high-value" detainee either from outside or by her own hand. If the cookie would crumble, let it crumble without adversely affecting the interest of the Filipino people.

Gimugna baya ning Alay Lakad ni Imelda." A Gwen Garcia fan said: "Maypa nganlan ta ning Alay Lakad, Suroy-Suroy."
