Ramon Arcenas Road, Cebu City
It is the road at Sta. Ana, Capakulan in Labangon, starting at corner R. Duterte Street towards the dead end. It is where a commercial complex is situated, a grocery store, a call center and a high end-subdivision, which is a part of the estate owned by the person it is named after.
Dr. Ramon Arcenas, donated the parcels of land to the Cebu City government to be used as road right-of-way for the benefit of the residents of Sta. Ana, Capakulan, Brgy. Labangon, Cebu City.
The donation of the access road led to the installation and connection of electrical, communication and water supplies for the interior residences.
Dr. Ramon Arcenas, the donor, requested that the road be named after his wife, Rosita (the name of a well-known department and grocery store in the early 70s, Rosita's Bazaar).
The Cebu City Council, after the death of Dr. Ramon Arcenas, in order to perpetuate the latter's memory and generosity, enacted Cebu City Ordinance No. 1410 named the street after him. The ordinance was approved on mass motion on October 14, 1991. The Council was then composed of the following: Alvin B. Garcia, Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer (who later became mayor), Rodolfo Y.
