Chalk ordinance

THE EAR - The Freeman

CHALK. Did you know that private and public vehicle drivers are required to have chalk with them or face fines and penalty if they are without chalk when they figure in a road accident? An Ear informer shared this information in her Facebook page. “Naay driver og taxi nga nangita og chalk sa tindahan sa akong mama. Natingala akong mama og unsaon sa taxi driver ang chalk, requirement diay kuno sa CITOM kay naay ordinance,” our informer said, adding that drivers who figure in an accident are now required to mark the positions of the vehicles involved in the accident to avoid traffic congestion while waiting for a traffic enforcer.

WHAT IF IT'S RAINING. But many of our informer's friends on Facebook reacted to her post. “What if it's raining?”, “Chalk? As in kanang pang blackboard?”, “Binuang man ni!” are some of the reactions that the post generated. “Ma-erase man gihapon nang chalk. What if dugay mo-abot ang enforcer?” added our informer.
