SONA. A Japanese newspaper/radio correspondent who had lunch with his Filipino counterpart in a fastfood joint in Manila asked his Pinoy colleague: “Why is there so much street protest everytime a Filipino president delivers his SONA?” This Japanese mediaman has covered three SONAs by as many president, according to an Ear informer.

SENSATIONAL. The same Japanese mediaman whose beat includes the Philippines, Australia and part of the US said: “These protest rallies make good sensational press stories but why don't they listen first before they hit the street?” Our informer said the Japanese newsman sounded concerned because he's married to a Filipina.
