Old 3rd Congressional District of Cebu

At present, the 3rd Congressional District is composed of Toledo City, Barili, Aloguinsan, Pinamungahan, Balamban, Asturias and Tuburan. However, in the early 1900s, the old 3rd Congressional District was composed of the following: Carcar, Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando and Talisay.

From 1907 up to 1972 the following were elected as its representative:

1907-1909   Filemon Sotto

1909-1912   Filemon Sotto

1912-1916   Filemon Sotto

• Filemon Sotto left congress in 1916 and was elected senator of the then 10th Senatorial District. A street is named after him.

1916-1919   Vicente Urgello

1919-1922   Vicente Urgello

• There is also a street named after him, V. Urgello St.

1922-1925   Vicente Rama

1925-1928   Vicente Rama

• Vicente Rama became Cebu City Mayor and a street is named after him.

1928-1931   Maximino Noel

1931-1934   Maximino Noel

1934-1935   Vicente Rama

1935-1938  Agustin Y. Kintanar

1938-1941  Maximino Noel

1941-1946  Maximino Noel

1946-1949  Maximino Noel

1949-1953  Primitivo Sato

• Eduardo Gullas later became Governor of Cebu, Congressman of the Post-Martial Law 1st District of Cebu and First City Mayor of Talisay.
