Kris, James, Chiz and Heart on tv? It’s nauseating
It’s a Red-Letter Day for our talk show on Straight from the Sky as this week we celebrate our 13th year doing this tv show for SkyCable. How time flies indeed. It was in the Year 2000 when I got to interview Sec. Manuel “Mar†Roxas who was then the new Secretary of the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) in his office under then Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who assumed as president after the resignation of then Pres. Joseph “Erap†Estrada.
685 shows later, we are still in the middle of conducting interviews and educating our TV audience about life, from people, history, travel, politics, religion and current events. At this point, we would like to thank, first of all SkyCable, notably Ms. Glenda Descuatan and James Boyles for persevering with us and giving us the longest tv talk show in Metro Cebu and to my tv crew headed by Albert Dajab. We also thank our sponsors for their continued support and above all, our faithful audience, who every now and then, I would meet somewhere or in a shopping mall and would introduce themselves to me saying that they enjoyed watching our show. Straight from the Sky would not have gone this far without your viewership. God bless you all.
Call it coincidental that for this year, our 13th anniversary falls during Holy Week. I call it perfect timing because the title of this show, Straight from the Sky means… this show must have been sent from heaven. After all, 13-years ago, we were not looking to join the tv industry. As it is Holy Week, we offer our 13th year as our gift to our Lord with a talk by Fr. Antonio “Anzam†Zamora, Jr., parish priest of Sto. Niño Parish in Paknaan, Mandaue City.
I recently met Fr. Anzam when he said mass for the Sons of David a few weeks ago… and I then asked him to be our guest tonight to talk about the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ in this holiest of weeks in Christendom. I could have requested a Bishop to be on this show, but following the example of our newly elected Pope Francis who is much admired for his humility and love for the poor and who wanted a “Poor†church, I decided to have Fr. Anzam would be the perfect priest for our show tonight.
So please watch our Holy Week presentation with Fr. Anzam, our 685th show on SkyCable tonight at 8:00pm on channel 61 with replays on Wednesday and Saturday same time. We are also replayed on MyTV channel 30 on MWF.

Aren’t we getting sick and tired of the way our mainstream TV networks bring into public view the life of Kris Aquino, the sister of Pres. Benigno “PNoy†Aquino, III? Then there’s also the problems of Sen. Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista…whose parents are totally against the Senator. Let me say it here that last Saturday, The Freeman came up with a perfect editorial entitled “Filipinos have nothing to do with the life of Kris.†Allow me to quote a part of that editorial, which truly sums up my thoughts about what’s happening in this sick country.
“What have Filipinos done to deserve the agonizing fate of waking up one morning and finding all four sisters of the President engage in a very public dirty linen washing binge on one television network? And then shifting to the other network, finding another very public dirty linen washing binge, this time involving Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista, on one hand, and her parents on the other?â€
Years ago, we’re already totally nauseated that Kris Aquino some years back would openly admit on nationwide tv that she got VD because of her actor lover whom she broke apart. Then she had her son by actor Philip Salvador, and finally she got married to James Yap… and she couldn’t make that marriage stick. Who cares if she lives a very immoral life?
Now she claims that James tried to get her into bed. So it’s a case of “She said, he said.†Perhaps she is telling the truth; after all, she’s got her boobs “Bellowedâ€. But James denies it… and wags are saying that Kris must have reacted this way because James no longer found her attractive even with her new set of boobs. But do we Filipinos have to hear all this crap on nationwide tv? Pundits are saying that this time around, together with her sisters, Pinky, Viel and Ballsy were seen on a rival channel with GMA-7’s Jessica Soho’s “24 Orasâ€washing their dirty laundry in public… or was this part of the Aquino drama to downplay the problems of their Presidential brother who seems to be lost in handling his international problems?
Who knows what the bottom line is. But I have no doubt that the Yellow propagandists propping up the sagging image of Pres. PNoy would do anything to show that the public that he is still popular. Even SWS came up with an ill-timed survey designed to prop up the President. But as to Kris and James, Chiz and Heart, let me quote the lawyer of James, Atty. Lorna Kapunan who said, “A domestic dispute should [stay] between the estranged couple and should not be discussed in the media.†Pin the blame on this on Kris Aquino for always bringing out her problems before the media!
