SUMMER HEAT. The weather in Cebu has become unbearably hot that an Ear informer said she has chosen to take taxi rides instead of just commuting by jeepney. “Di madala ang init oi. Bahala na lang og dako ang gasto, mo taxi na lang gyud ko,” she said.

COOL TAXI. The other day, our informer said, she rode a taxi from Banilad to the downtown area and was really happy that the taxi she was riding on had really good airconditioning. “Akong giingnan ang driver nga, ‘Hay salamat bugnaw kaayo ang aircon sa imong taxi noy kay init gyud kaayo sa gawas.”’ The taxi driver, she said, replied, “Ay o ma'am oi. Nakakita ka sa pangalan sa akong taxi nga gi drayban? Cool Taxi. Mauwaw ko og ang tag-iya kung 'Cool' among pangalan unya hot diay sa sulod.”
