Year-end inventory

“The past is our gateway to the present and the future”.

So goes the cliche that we have been hearing over and over again the past several years of our earthly life.

As the year 2012 is about to end, let us try to look back and make an inventory of the things, people, places, and events in our lives the past 366 days. Let us make a real honest-to-goodness self-examination and evaluation of ourselves that we may continue doing the good things and refrain from doing the undesirables that we may become better persons that we ought to be. Here goes:

1. How did I start the year 2012?

2. Who were the people that I have made happy by the things I said and did?

3. Who were the people that I have hurt through my words and actions?

4. Who were the people that I had misunderstandings with?

5. What were my greatest achievements?

6. Which of my plans did or did not materialize?

7. What were the occasions where I shared special moments with my family?

8. How many trips have I made? Whereto?

9. How many Sunday masses did I miss? For what reasons?

10. What were the trials that came into my life? How did I deal with them?

11. How many times did I get sick? From what?

12. What were the pleasant surprises?

13. What were the shocking news?

14. What were the nice books that I have read?

15. What were the things I have bought for myself?

16. Who were the people who remembered me on my birthday?

17. What promises to myself did I break?

18. Who were the people I hated or disliked most?

19. Who were the people who went ahead to the Great Beyond?

20. How many times was I invited as a sponsor (wedding, baptism, inauguration, etc.)?

21. How many times did I help the needy? Who were they?

22. What were the occasions that I got angry or lost my patience?

23. Who were the people who I have asked favor from?

24. What were the mistakes I have committed?

25. What were the lessons I have learned?

26. Who were the people who I have advised or counseled?

27. Who were the people who have helped me?

28. What were the things that really made me happy/sad?

29. What were the good/bad things that I have done to myself?

30. What were the good/bad things that I have done to others?
