PUJ trip cutting still on

THE EAR - The Philippine Star

TRIP CUTTING. Many jeepney passengers have long been complaining about trip cutting practiced by some PUJ drivers. Complaints have reached many sectors of the news media and may have also reached the ears or attention of proper authorities, but this practice continues to this day.

FEDUP VICTIM. About two weeks ago one jeepney commuter who had gotten fed up with having been victimized many times by these unscrupulous drivers, decided to teach one of them a lesson. An Ear informer said the passenger who was bound for Pardo failed to reach his destination because the PUJ driver refused to proceed to Pardo and dropped this passenger somewhere in Mambaling. It was raining.

HEATED ARGUMENT. A heated argument ensued. The passenger who said he was already fed up with being victimized by trip cutters pulled out his belt and beat up the driver. “Nisukol ang drayber oy,” our informer said. “Pero wa mahinayo’g sukol kay gihulbutan siya og .45 sa pasahero. Maynalang kay niluhod siya nangayo’g pasaylo.”
