Ban plastic bags?

READER'S VIEWS - By Felicito S. Taporco of Aurora - The Philippine Star

For once, let’s work towards the people’s good. Let’s not ban plastic bags. Instead, we take them as a challenge. As our golden opportunity becoming a better people. A people willing and capable of using and disposing plastic bags properly. – 09287999720

To ban the use of plastics is a good idea. But it’s really hard to implement. Using plastics is already part of the daily life activities of humans. Even if we ban it, there will still be people who will continue to use it. In short, it’s really hard for us to stop using plastics. For me, the best thing that our government can do is educate everyone on how to reduce our trash and the threats it brings if we do not throw garbage properly. Everyone should be educated about global warming that resulted to climate change. Everyone should know what is happening to mother Earth. – Jose Miano Jr. of Bogo City, Cebu

To ban the use of plastics will greatly affect employment and government income from the industry. Strictly implement the law on burning used plastic rather than throwing in rivers or landfill.

Province politics

I can’t help but squirm everytime I see the poster of Congressman Pablo John Fiel Garcia with his picture and with this line: Probinsya gyud ang unahon! He is obviously insulting the intelligence of Cebuanos living in Cebu province. Karon na lang? Kay hapit na mahuman ng termino ni Gwendolyn Fiel Garcia nga iyang maguwang isip gobernadora sa Sugbo? – Louie Sherwin B. Madrio of Lagang, Carcar City
