WHY THESE ACRONYMS? A student asked The Ear why government thought of acronyms like SOCA for State of the City Address and SOPA, for State of the Province Address. “Lain man paminawon ang SOCA ug SOPA,” the student said.

VERSIONS OF THE SONA. An Ear informer said SOCAs and SOPAs are just local versions of the President’s SONA or State of the Nation Address. “Sa nag skwela pa ko, wala man ning SOCA ug SOPA. SONA ra man gyud. Pero kabalo na kas Pinoy, hilig kaayo maghimo himo og mga acronyms,” said the informer.
