Nip the bad cops in the bud, Chief

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   - The Philippine Star

It says here that “most cops tagged in abuses are new.” (Philstar, June 10/12). This, according to PNP chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome. Of course, Chief, you know what to do. Nip them in the bud.

While these “abusive cops” are still new in the service, they must be made to go and get lost pronto before they could do more harm to the PNP and the people. My take. What’s yours?

Many are asking who was that girl who sang the Pambansang Awit before the Pacquiao-Bradley fight. She sang it so perfectly the National Historical Commission was impressed.

That girl’s name is Kirby Asunto, 14, a Fil-Am. She’s not from the local showbiz. I heard someone comment, “She did the National Anthem better than Martin Nievera.”

Everyone — or so it seems — is talking about the Pacman debacle in Las Vegas where, a TF reader said, the biggest robbery of all time happened. My friend Teddy H. says: “It was God’s message for Manny to quit the ring ...The first message was made in his fight against Marquez where, experts say, he lost but won by the skin of his teeth.”

Mommy Dionesia wants son Manny to again fight Bradley to settle a score. Manny must think it over many times. The Bible says revenge — pagpanimalus — is a no-no.

A neighbor of mine in Victor Village, Punta Princesa, wants me to convey to City Hall his gratitude for the asphalting of the roads in the village. I join him in expressing and conveying this gratitude. Daghang salamat.

OVERHEARD. Two sabungeros were heard talking about the Pacquiao-Bradley fight. One of them said: “Ang akong kasingkasing tua gyud ni Manny pero nipusta ko kang Bradley kay kon modaug ang negro ang usa ko ka libo modaug og tulo ka libo.”
