Hospitals in Europe hire medical clowns

Did you know that there are medical professionals called medical clowns? Yes, there are. They’re hired by many hospitals in Europe to make patients laugh as they battle their illnesses.

It may sound funny but according to one source these medical clowns are giving the medical doctors some competition in alleviating the sicknesses of patients gratis et amored. A media observer in London said: “Medical clowns give no medicines other than laughter.”

Lest we forget, May is being celebrated as Farmers’ and Fisherfolk Month. The Department of Agriculture is spearheading the celebration. Yes, to pay tribute to the country’s farmers and fishermen who, many of us have forgotten, are the giver of the food on our tables.

He said if the houses have fire extinguishers in their premises, a fire could be put out pronto before it could develop into a big “uncontrollable conflagration.” Wise idea, I said. But who’ll provide the fire extinguishers? He replied: “Problema na kana sa mayor.” Hehe.

All 45 aboard the Russian-made passenger jet were killed when the plane crashed in a mountain in Indonesia. The aircraft was brand new and was on demonstration flight. It was intended to show off to guest passenger and to resurrect the aerospace industry in Russia. Needless to say, the resurrection may have to wait another time.
