"Seven Last Words" by the kids

- The Ear -

KIDDIES’ SIETE PALABRAS. Last year, during Good Friday, while the grown ups — priests, lay leaders, media people — were having their traditional Siete Palabras in many parts of the country, a group of kids (eight to 13 years old) in Bacolod City were also taking turns in reflecting on the Seven Last Words.

IN HILIGAYNON. The children spoke in Hiligaynon (the language of Western Visayas) on the sufferings of Jesus Christ on the Cross. An Ear informer said the kids were trained how to deliver the homily on a makeshift pulpit and each of them was assigned a word to dwell on. Listening to them were their parents and relatives and there were some school officials too.
