Under PNoy, incompetence has its rewards!
I just got a copy of a letter that our good friend Douglas Gacasan President of the Task Force for Family and Life (TFFL) Visayas wrote to another friend of ours, Atty. Rufel F. Bañoc President of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas (KBP) Cebu Chapter. This is a complaint against DyMF Bombo Radyo’s program “Hagawhaw sa Kagabhi-on especially its broadcast last Mar.4, 2012 from 8:00PM to 9:00PM.
The TFFL said that “The program simply goes against the norms of decency and to our opinion violates KBPs’ Broadcast Code of the Philippines, Article 25 Section 1,3,4 and 5. It is replete with vulgar, obscene and offensive commentaries on sex. At a certain segment, it exhorts listeners to practice masturbation on oneself and or together with a partner. It is definitely a program devoid of the right values and morals and could instill improper attitudes on sex to our youth. We can supply you with a tape recording of the program for your review of the merits of this protest or you can request a recording from the radio station. We urge your office to order Bombo Radyo to remove this program from the air immediately.”
While I fully agree with the letter complaint, I will refrain from making my own commentaries until after the KBP comes up with the results of their investigation on this issue. While we do have freedom of speech, there is no question that it comes with certain responsibilities that the media should conduct itself for the sake of decency and morality.

I watched CJ Corona last Wednesday morning on GMA-TV and one of the questions asked by TV anchor Arnold Clavio to CJ Corona was, “Will you resign even after you are acquitted in the Senate because people say that you are already damaged goods?” CJ Corona’s reply was, “Who are saying this, but my detractors. I’m fighting to strengthen the Judiciary and if I’m acquitted it would strengthen the Judiciary so why should I resign?”
This is the trouble with the followers of Pres. Benigno “PNoy” Aquino, III; they just won’t stop harassing the Chief Justice. First they paint an ugly picture against him, demanding him to resign… something that they were so successful with former Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez and former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who by the way was recently cleared of one of the issues that pro-PNoy propagandists tagged against her in the Iloilo airport scam. She was cleared by the Ombudsman last week and the news of this was not even headline news.
Anyway, these rabid yellow supporters of PNoy shifted from their trial by public opinion to the more serious charge of legally impeaching CJ Corona, thanks to the 188 robots of PNoy in Congress who didn’t even care to read the 8 impeachment articles that PNoy’s minions presented to them and they merrily signed away such a very important case without reading them. So now CJ Corona is an impeached Chief Justice. So more calls for his resignation were done by the followers of PNoy.
But since that did not result in the resignation of the Chief Justice, Pres. PNoy’s allies in Congress now had no choice but to do their homework and go through the process of a Senate Impeachment trial. In the end, after 26 days of trial, the prosecution bungled its way by presenting spuriously gotten evidences… and even lied before the senator-judges. So the PNoy machinery went back to their faceless propagandists to try CJ Corona in the bar of public opinion with no less than the President himself openly coming out with a PowerPoint presentation to the students of La Consolacion College as to why CJ Corona has to go.
Indeed, if CJ Corona is acquitted, why should he resign? Right now, the balance of power within the three pillars of our democratic government is intact for as long as the Judiciary is not under the control of PNoy. We know too well that the Legislative Branch which is a co-equal to the Executive and Judiciary has been placed firmly in the pockets of PNoy and will do his bidding, except for Senate Pres. Juan Ponce Enrile. But our best example is when the 188 Congressmen and women signed the eight articles of impeachment in just 45 minutes. You couldn’t be more “sip-sip” than that!
While this trial is far from over, I got this news buried in the inside pages of the Philippine Star and the other news dailies, which says, “It’s all in the family. President Aquino has appointed the father and a brother of Iloilo Rep. Neil Tupas, Jr. the lead prosecutor in the impeachment trial of CJ Corona, while his sister has been designated board member of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)…. On Monday the fathers of two members of the prosecution team in the impeachment trial were appointed to two separate government owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs).What we are looking at here is PNoy’s rewarding sheer incompetence!
