Even the "authorities" panicked

- The Ear -

PANIC MODE. We cannot blame people from panicking last Monday when rumors of a tsunami spread like wildfire, said an Ear informer, because even the authorities panicked, too. The informer, who was in a meeting in a building in midtown Cebu, said it was the security guard of the building itself who started shouting there was a tsunami and that everyone should run for their lives. “Kalma ra baya unta ang mga tao nga nanggawas sa building pagka human sa linog pero pag singgit sa sikyu nga naay tsunami, didto na nagkagubot,” the informer said.

EVEN THE COPS. Another Ear informer, who was eating at a pungko-pungko near a school in Sanciangko Street with his friends, continued with their business while people were already running to higher ground. “Kabalo man mi oi nga imposible nga mag tsunami kay pila na gud to ka oras pagkahuman sa linog,” the informer said. However, a policeman reportedly scolded them for laughing at the people who passed by them. “Gikasab-an mi niya unya gi-ingnan mi nga managan na sad kuno mi. Mobayad pa unta mi sa among gikaon but ingon man sya nga panagan na mo,” he said.
