Geese as watchers against burglars

NOT DOGS BUT GEESE. A middle-aged couple who have retired from their jobs abroad, keep two geese at home which they use as “watchers” at night. Ramon (not his real name), the husband, said most geese perform better than dogs when it comes to watching burglars. “Saba kaayo sila,” he told an Ear informer. “Saba pa sa hulhol sa iro.”

FIGHTERS. Ramon said there are geese that could fight off burglars when cornered. “Their bites leave no wound,” he said, “but they could scare and hurt anyone with their wings. “Many families in the rural areas of India keep geese as pets and watchbirds,” he said.
