Slippers are not shoes, are they?
It says here that a laborer is accused of raping his own friend. That is not what they call labor of love, is it?

Many usually busy streets downtown and uptown were almost empty last All Saints’ Day. They were virtual ghost towns.

PRO-7 says the holidays in the region were peaceful. The “principals” were resting in peace.

It was told that there was a mestiza who tried to enter a clubhouse but was blocked by the doorman because the dress code was being strictly observed. She was wearing rubber slippers which were banned.
* * *
She was upset and she felt insulted. She argued that her slippers were no ordinary footwear. They carried a world-famous brand. “I know,” said the guard. “But they are still slippers, dili sapatos ... Sapatos ra ang pasudlon dinhi.”
* * *
The mestiza was later heard whispering to her companion: “Ignorante guardyaha. Wa kaila sa akong tsinelas nga mas mahal pa ni kay sa iyang sapatos.” Hehe.

Told about this story about the mestiza and her slippers, the manager of another clubhouse said: “Dress codes are dress codes and they’re there to be followed. In the nudist camp, however, the dress code is different. They call it undressed code. You got to come in undressed even without slippers.”

“The plan to build a high-rise condominium for city hall residents in Brgy. Kamagayan where the Citicenter is should push through. Otherwise it will end up like all other previous plans for the development of the area that many have been calling an eyesore.”
* * *
He adds: “This condo plan, if it materializes, would clear the area of what one ex-cop called “nest’ or ‘pugad’ of many undesirable elements of society. For one, the so-called red light district of Kamagayan will be gone.”
* * *
He adds further: “But like all projects designed to effect change or improvement, this plan to construct a high-rise condo for city hall employees will run into strong opposition by certain elements. But let’s just hope for the best.”
