Feeding the hungry by chance

- The Ear -

FEED THE HUNGRY.

As he walked out of a restaurant on Colon St., a man’s paper bag (bulsita) was grabbed from his hand by a boy dressed in virtual rags. The “bulsita” was filled with siopao, which the man said he was bringing home as pasalubong for his two kids and the missis. The man just shook his head, smiled and went back to the eatery to buy another bag of siopao.

NOT ANGRY. The waitress who saw the boy snatch the man’s bag of siopao, asked the man: “Wa ka masuko? Wa ka motawag og polis?” The man just smiled saying: “It was a chance for me to feed the boy. Segurado gyud ko gigutom to. Ug wa pa to niya isnata wa sad ko mahinumdom mopakaon niya. Ing-ana man gyud ta, di ba?’ The man added: “Nalipay ko nakapaon ko og gutom nga bata.”
